Purpose of the program:

•Our Master of Science (Research) program aims to bridge the gap between the pressing demands of the healthcare ecosystem and the field of Biomedical Engineering by nurturing highly skilled human resources equipped with interdisciplinary knowledge and scientific acumen.

•At the core of our vision lies a project-centric approach, where students actively engage in collaborative endeavors that integrate medicine with engineering. 

•Through this immersive learning environment, we aim to equip our graduates with the latest skill sets demanded by the healthcare industry, thereby empowering them to drive innovation and make meaningful contributions to the advancement of healthcare technology and solutions.

Program Features:

Batch Strength: A total of 20 students with 12 students on Institute fellowship and 08 sponsored seats. 

Program Duration: 4 semesters for full-timestudents and 6 semesters for part-time program. 

Coursework Requirement: 16 graded credits from a  basket of courses

Clinical/Industry Immersion: The clinical/Industry immersion of 2-3 months.  

Thesis Work: At least 36 credits of research work. All thesis evaluation rules as per IIT Delhi MS (R) thesis norms. 

Areas of Research and Specialization: Based on research: Medical imaging and data informatics; Biomaterials and implants; Bioelectronics and Biosensors; Biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering and haptics.

Higher Fellowship: In addition to the Institute fellowship, for 5 selected MBBS graduates a top-up honorarium of 20,000/- pm will be provided by faculty advising the student’s thesis work.

Shortlisting Criteria:

IMPORTANT NOTE: The final shortlisting criterion and admission procedure will be decided by CBME-IITD Research Committee in accordance with Institute norms and will be notified on the website.
